It Took Me Long Enough

I think we're finally settled. We moved out of our old place, headed to the Tri-Cities, went to California, ended up back in Oregon for the first week of rotations, then we took off for the Tri-Cities again for Memorial Day weekend. We are definitely tired of being on the go.

Disneyland was fabulous. Here's some of my favorite happenings:

Carrie: So what are your guys' plans for the rest of the day?
Erin: I think we're going to walk endlessly, drink water frequently, and use the bathroom accordingly.

Cecily (Phil and Erin's daughter): My Gamma! She's my Gamma!
Carrie: Well, she may be your grandma, but she's my mama.
Cecily: She not a mama. She's my Gamma. (I guess it doesn't pay to argue with a two year old.)

Callie (Phil and Erin's other daughter) was terrified of the first half of Pirate's of the Caribbean. She wailed until we finally convinced her that she was safe, and that she was allowed to have a good time. At the end of the ride, Alyssa turned around and asked, "Callie, did you like it?" Not even skipping a beat, Callie said, in the happiest voice imaginable,"I wasn't scared at all!"

Mom and Dad watched all of the grand kids in the hotel Thursday evening, so all of the parents could spend a couple of hours by themselves. We ended up staying together and running around from ride to ride like teenagers. It was great! It was Erin's first time ever at Disneyland, so she was wearing her first time button, and because of that we got to go on the special elevator on Indiana Jones Adventure.

I absolutely loved the Tower of Terror. Oh, it was so much better than I was expecting it to be. I loved it!

It was so much fun seeing all of the cousins together. I have so many cute pictures of Alyssa, Kenna, and Callie together. It was so much fun to go as a family.

Anyway, I'll put up some pictures as soon as I transfer them from Brian's laptop. We got some good ones.

Oh, and by the way, the winner of some super fabulous Disneyland Lemonade (I'd put a picture up, but I'm lazy today) is Tonya! The cashier said that she'd never had it before, but she had heard that it is wonderful. We'll just have to trust her. It's a three pack with regular lemonade, limeade, and raspberry lemonade. No matter how it tastes, it's got Mickey on it, and it sure is cute.

Serendipity Disneyland Giveaway

Sometimes I just love how things work out. A couple weeks ago I noticed that I was getting close to 200 posts. Pretty cool, I thought, then forgot about it. Then, when I posted on Saturday about how much I love the movie Iron Man (still love it, you gotta see it) I saw that it was post 199. So post number 199 happened just a couple of days before we would be making the Disneyland Decision, and I thought, If we're able to go to Disneyland, it would be so cool to to do a 200 Posts Giveaway.

So we packed up our moving truck on Monday and Tuesday (I never want to move again in my entire life!) and headed to the Tri-Cities Tuesday afternoon. Actually, Brian and Ethan left in the truck Tuesday afternoon. Alyssa and I had to wait for Callie to come home so we could take her with us. She had gotten out the door while we were going in and out, and she hadn't come back. So Alyssa and I waited for a while, then we figured that if we went to McDonald's for dinner, she might come home before we got back.

* * *

Okay, that's the post I started last week. The cat did come back, and she's hopefully having a good time at Melinda's house. I guess it's official that we're going to Disneyland, because right now we're in Monterey California. We're having a great time visiting Brian's friend from high school, and tomorrow we're going to go hang out with Katie.

Long story short, to celebrate my 200th post, I'll be giving away some fun stuff from Disneyland. So leave a comment by the time I get back on Sunday, and I'll have a drawing for the box of Disneyland goodies!

Date Night

So I think I'm getting the hang of this curly hair thing. Today it didn't look too frizzy or too big, and it's relaxed enough that I don't look like a poodle anymore. So I took a picture to document it.

Brian and I took a break from all the movin' and packin' and boxin' to go see Iron Man, which just came out a couple of days ago. Now, Brian and I don't go to the theater to see movies very often. We usually wait until they come to the Compass Room or DVD, but Brian has been wanting to see this movie ever since he first heard about it. It was so worth it! I loved every minute of it, and that was even while I was holding and rocking Marcus. Seriously, it was the best guy movie I have ever seen. It had great explosions and shooting things, but not too much. The guy was a womanizer, but I didn't find myself gagging like when I've watched James Bond. There was shooting and flying and really cute robots. I laughed, I gasped in surprise, I waited in suspense. I absolutely loved it. And I think Brian liked it, too.

Just Movin', And Packin', And Boxin'

It's official. We booked the moving truck last night, and we'll be loading it up Monday and Tuesday. Woo-hoo! Rotations have begun! Brian checked yesterday, and he passed all his classes (I wasn't worried) so he's officially a fourth year. So we'll be moving everything to a storage unit in the Tri-Cities on Tuesday, then we'll move into the Claypool's house in a couple of weeks. Brian's first rotation is internal, so he'll be spending most of his time in Forest Grove and around Portland.
